132 year old Grand Hotel on Mackinac – still getting it done
The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island has been named Michigan's best hotel for the second year in a row. According to MLive.com, US News and World Report picked the Grand Hotel over the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham and, in third place, the MGM Grand Detroit.
This comes on the heels of the Grand Hotel being named America's best historic hotel last August by USA Today. I've never stayed there, but every Michigander should at least pay the ten bucks (or whatever it is now) to stand on that porch. It's impressive.
The Grand Hotel opens for business this year on May 4th.
