Lansing's foodie scene is about to get another upgrade.

Lansing is Getting a New Restaurant

In the midst of some sad recent closures, it's nice to hear about a place that's opening, it makes me feel optimistic about the future.

According to the Lansing State Journal, a "new, fast-casual pizza eatery" will be opening later this year. And you might be familiar with the restaurant chain that's opening this new place because it's courtesy of The Old Bag of Nails Pub.

The Old Bag of Nails Pub is Opening a Fast-Casual Pizza Place

The Old Bag of Nails is an Ohio-based food chain that specializes in pub food like burgers and fish and chips. They currently have a location in the Red Cedar Development on Michigan Avenue across from Frandor. And this new restaurant won't be too far away.

The chain will open its second pizza eatery in Lansing in a leased, first-floor space at 3214 E. Michigan Ave., inside the 792-bed student apartment complex, University Edge. The eatery will join existing businesses Feng Cha and Tropical Smoothie below University Edge.

I'm looking forward to trying the new offerings. They'll be serving up New York-style and Midwest-style pizza along with subs and salads.

When Will This New Pizza Place Open?

What's the name of this new pizza place? No word on that just yet.

When will this mystery pizza place open? Apparently, sometime in November. Prepare yourself for some delicious new takeout options.
