I’m On An Elephant!

I am posting this picture of me riding an elephant in honor of Banana Don's appearance tonight from 5-7 at the Shrine Circus at the Lansing Center.

Here's the story about the photo. In 1982, my family went to Florida for Christmas break. One of the places we went to was Busch Gardens. Now, I was ten years old on this trip and according to my mom, I really wanted to ride the elephant at Busch Gardens. Believe it or not, I do remember a lot about this experience and here's why...

While riding the elephant it had to, shall we say, relieve itself. This is the part that I remember clearly because the handler brought out a giant trash can for the "big event" and that is when everyone took out their cameras (they weren't right on your phone back then) and took pictures of the whole thing. I was absolutely mortified! My family, of course, thought it was hysterical. Ah...good times...oh, and go see Don tonight at the Shrine Circus!
