Winning The Lottery Is About To Get A Little Harder
This is obviously going to wreak havoc on our little lottery group at work... :)
If you haven't heard, the cost to buy a Mega Millions tickets is going to increase later this year. According to the USA Today, starting in October it will cost $2 (instead of a $1) to buy a Mega Millions ticket. Unfortunately with the increase in price, the odds of winning the jackpot will decrease and players will now pick from 70 numbers for the first set of picks, and 25 numbers for the second.
There is a tiny bit of good news--the second-place prize of $1 million will get easier to win with your chance to win changing from 1 in 18.5 million to 1 in 12.6 million.
