With all this warm weather lately, what effect will warm water in the Great Lakes have on lake effect snowfall totals this winter?

In 1995, we had a warm summer with warm lake water into September and Sault Ste. Marie got pounded with 5 FEET of snow, in one weekend, in December. And while we don't ever get the snow that they get in the Soo, we do get lake effect snow here. So what can we expect?

Here's an interesting article about the subject from MLive.com's Mark Torregrossa.
