You know how I love to talk about robots and self driving cars and artificial intelligence. And now that we're binge watching Westworld at our house (is it still binge-watching if it takes you a week or two?) I'm convinced we're not too far away from something like Westworld becoming reality. And neither is Elon Musk.

Recently, Elon has been speaking out about the threat of artificial intelligence to us humans. And this isn't just to promote a show starring his ex-wife Talulah Riley, he's really scared. Elon Musk is the guy behind the Tesla automobiles and SpaceX rocket program. One of his goals is using his rockets to get people to Mars. I have no doubt he will accomplish that. According to Vanity Fair, a couple of years ago he said that the whole reason SpaceX existed was to colonize Mars so we would have someplace to go once the machines took over.

Just think about that for a second.

And even though he's friends with East Lansing High School grad and co-founder of Google, Larry Page, he's afraid Larry and friends may “produce something evil by accident”—including, possibly, “a fleet of artificial intelligence-enhanced robots capable of destroying mankind.

So there's that. Thanks, East Lansing High School science program.
