West Michigan Kid Stars in New Holiday Movie on Amazon Prime
For over a month my TV-watching has consisted of so many holiday movies and shows. Admit it, it's hard not to get sucked into a good holiday movie, as cheesy as some of them may be. If you too are addicted to the Christmas spirit, there's a new movie to add to the list so get ready to cuddle up on the couch and don't forget the hot cocoa!
Amazon Prime is currently streaming a new movie called Miracle on Christmas and FOX 17 reports that it stars a local kid, 11-year-old Ethan Mathias of Ada. He plays the role of Caleb, the son of the family in the film. Ethan told FOX 17 that this was his first movie role as one of the lead characters, and not just an extra.
The synopsis of Miracle on Christmas reads
During the Christmas holiday, Mary (Erin Bethea) experiences emotional trials that cause her to question her faith until a visitor (Brett Varvel) arrives and her husband (Jason Burkey) receives an unexpected miracle.
Based on the trailer, it seems like a faith-based family movie with some comedic moments. Miracle on Christmas has 7.4 stars out of 10 on IMDb and 4.9 out of 5 on Amazon.
As far Ethan goes, he said to FOX 17 he hopes his next acting gig will be on a TV show.
Miracle on Christmas was shot in the Brighton and Howell area this year, before the pandemic. The trailer for the movie is below.
