According to WOOD-TV, the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety shut down the Grand Haven pier on Wednesday night due to the high winds hitting the area. The National Weather Service has issued gale warnings for the Great Lakes region and says that Lake Michigan waves along parts of western Michigan could be 10 to 16 feet today. A wind gust of 48 mph was already reported this morning in South Haven along Lake Michigan and gusts of 46 mph were reported in Holland and 41 mph in Grand Rapids.

Even though the Grand Haven pier is closed, you can still see the giant waves. You can click below to see the live camera shot of the activities/giant waves happening near the Grand Haven Pier and Lighthouse. Some of them are pretty impressive!
