Back in July we told you that former American Idol contestant, Taylor Hicks was coming to Lansing to tape an episode of his show, State Plate that airs on the INSP network. At that time, the Lansing State Journal reported that Taylor Hicks would be filming a cooking segment about wild rice at a private residence in Lansing. (You can read more about that by clicking here.)tate

Well, here's an update for you. The Lansing segment of State Plate was taped at author Barb Burton's house. According to the Lansing State Journal, Burton is an aquatic resource specialist who works for the State of Michigan. She apparently knows quite a bit about wild rice as she reportedly began researching it a decade ago. The Lansing episode will be airing on Monday, November 19th. Click here to find out more.

By the way, we had the chance to meet Taylor Hicks about ten years ago when he stopped by the old WITTLE White House on Pine Tree Road. Back in 2008, he came to the Wharton Center when he was starring in the national tour of Grease.
