By this point, we all know that no one won the giant Powerball jackpot over the weekend. However, there are now 3 new millionaires in Michigan as they each matched 5 numbers to win the runner-up prize of a million dollars! The winning tickets were sold at The Pilot Travel Center, located at 750 Baker Road in Dexter; the Speedway gas station, located at 800 Washington Avenue in Holland; and Meijer, located at 3175 S. Rochester Road in Rochester Hills.

According to the Michigan Lottery, the ticket sold in Holland was purchased by a 19 year old who wasn't really sure how to play. Imari Shelton had to ask her mom about how to play. Here's what she told lottery officials:

“When I saw the jackpot had climbed so high, I decided I should take a chance and play,” said Shelton. “I wasn’t even sure how to play, so I had to ask my mom for help.”

With her mother’s help, Shelton bought five Powerball Easy Pick plays.

“When I woke up on Sunday, my mom told me that someone who had bought a Powerball ticket at the Speedway had won $1 million,” said Shelton. “As soon as I heard that, I grabbed my ticket and started checking the numbers. When I saw I matched five numbers, I started shaking.

“I asked my mom what it meant if I matched five numbers and she thought I was joking. After she looked at my ticket with me, we both started screaming.”

At this point, the Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing has increased to a world record $1.4 BILLION!!
