The Taylor (MI) North Little League baseball team is 2-0 so far at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania after rallying from a 5-0 deficit to defeat Abilene, Texas 6-5 on Monday.

The state of Michigan and Great Lakes Regional champions got a grand slam from Cameron Thorning in the second inning to pull within one, and rallied for the winning runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to get the win.  This after enduring a 3+ hour rain delay when they were behind 2-0.

Michigan won their first game in Williamsport this past Friday when they shut out Martin County North (Florida) 8-0.

Taylor North will now play Honolulu, Hawaii in the winners bracket on Wednesday night at 7:30.  A vcitory there would put Michigan into Saturday's semifinals.  The championship game is set for next Sunday at 3pm eastern time.

The last time a team from Michigan won the Little League World Series was in 1959, when Hamtramck won the world title.

In one way or another, these players have had a special impact on me because of the way they played the great game of baseball.
