West Michigan’s largest animal shelters are seeing large numbers of animals coming in, but sadly not enough are going out, as in being adopted.

Almost 40 shelters in Michigan will be participating in the Bissell Foundation's "Empty the Shelters" event, starting Monday, December 6th and running for two weeks.

Over 4,000 animals were placed in homes in the previous Empty the Shelters.
