You've seen it either in person or in the media so many times. Wedding photos have been taken around it, maybe you've gotten a photo with the kids or of the kids around it, it's the perfect location for a photo with your kid when they are on a university visit and we've of course seen students sleeping there to guard it from being disrespected by rival student vandals with cans of spray paint.

Of course I'm talking about the legendary Sparty statue. It's one of those things that's immediately top of mind when you think about Michigan State University. And as Sparty stands majestically there in East Lansing, he's been through a lot over the years. But who would've ever thought you would see him sporting a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Well that's what's up, according to the Lansing State Journal. Sparty is wearing that mask to remind us all to do what we can to slow the spread of Coronavirus and to Be Safe.

Check out the photos here in the Lansing State Journal of a mask wearing Sparty. You've got to agree this is a pretty cool idea.
