Spagnuolo’s Restaurant in Okemos Closing After 34 Years

Another longtime favorite is closing its doors.

The greater Lansing area has seen a mix of growth and loss when it comes to restaurants. Sadly, we have another closure on the horizon.

In an announcement made to their Facebook page, Spagnuolo's Restaurant in Okemos announced that they will be closing their doors for good.

After 34 years of service to the community, this Italian eatery will serve up its last meatball sub, a favorite among patrons.

The family-owned restaurant said it was not an easy decision to come to, but one that they had to make.

When is Spagnuolo's in Okemos Closing?

If you would like to celebrate Spagnuolo's and all the memories you made there over the years, there's a two-day going away party of sorts. Thursday, July 10 will be marked with live music from Aaron Caruso. And the last day will be Friday, July 11 from noon to 8 pm.

Spagnuolo's isn't the only place to close after 30 years of service; recently The Green Door in Lansing announced it would no longer be open Fridays and Saturdays for live music.

Longtime Lansing Bar is For Sale

The Green Door is also up for sale for anyone interested in keeping the tradition of live music in Lansing alive, as The Green Door did it for 34 years. For the time being, it's still open on Thursday evenings for MiLife Sports Club and Jason White DJ & Karaoke.
