The Green Door in Lansing Ends an Era With Summer Closure
After 34 years in service, one beloved Lansing bar has announced that it's essentially closing—This is truly the end of an era.
Lansing Favorite Bar Announces Closure
In the wee hours of this morning (Monday, June 23) Jen Costigan, owner of The Green Door in Lansing, took to Facebook to share some major news.
The Green Door is kind of closing.
It's 'kind of' closing because currently, The Green Door is only open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Fridays and Saturdays used to be reserved for live music, but Costigan has announced that The Green Door will be closed Fridays and Saturdays through the summer beginning June 28. It will, however, remain open Thursdays for MiLife Sports Club and Jason White DJ & Karaoke.

But, using her own words, Costigan says, "This will be the end of a Green Door Era as you know it."
The Owner of The Green Door is Selling the Bar
In addition to closing, Costigan is selling the bar in hopes of finding a new owner who wants to carry on the live music tradition.
The owner isn't the only person sad to see The Green Door end the way it is; Patrons and Lansing residents, are deeply saddened too, as hundreds of people have reacted, commented on, and shared Costigan's original post.
The Green Door is truly a legend of the Lansing bar scene, and it's terribly sad to see it go. I've spent many a costumed Halloween there enjoying a drink or three. Not to mention countless nights featuring live music.
