Today's snow throughout the mid MIchigan area isn't a pleasant sight. We are ready to move on to spring and summer. Snow in April is not uncommon in Michigan and the Lansing area.

Today we have had some snow showers throughout the day. While any type of precipitation is welcome during the spring months, rain is the preffered option for not just me but hundreds of thousands of others that feel the same way, we're done with snow! Obviously the precipitation is needed for crops and our ecosystem.

Essentially we don't get much for snow in May. April has been known to dump a few flakes on us. It wasn't surprising to me that we had some snowfall today. Michigan is a crazy state when it comes to weather. C'mon, a week and a half ago it was 80 degrees and sunny outside.

When it comes to rainfall:

May is the month with the most rainfall. Rain falls for 17.2 days and accumulates 3.15" (80mm) of precipitation.
