This may not be an issue for a lot of WITL-listening families, many of whom either live on farms and/or go camping/hunting/fishing on a regular basis, but some schools have taken kindergarten outside, where kids are learning lessons based on nature.

And while kids around here have spent a lot of their lives outside, the idea of doing this for kids in urban school districts may be the best part of the plan. Research shows - in areas with outdoor school programs, test scores are higher - and it wears the little suckers out, which all parents can appreciate.

According to Mother Nature Network, the idea of "forest schools" are catching on in New England after decades of like programs in Finland and Denmark, where little kids spend 80% of their school day outside.
