The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a three-year contract with restricted free agent forward Jakub Vrana (pictured).

It's a reported 3-year deal worth and average annual value (AAV) worth $5.25 million per season, per MLive's Ansar Khan.

The team and Vrana avoid arbitration with Tuesday's agreement.  Their arbitration hearing was scheduled for Wednesday.  Vrana came to the Red Wings in a trade involving Anthony Mantha with the Washington Capitals during this past season.

The 25-year old winger had 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) this past season with the Capitals and Red Wings.  And team management is counting on him to bolster a suspect offensive unit.

The Wings have signed a majority of their restricted free agents for next season.  They only have forwards Givani Smith and Adam Erne as well as defenseman Filip Hronek unsigned.

The Wings have struggled in recent years.  They have not played in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since the 2015-16 season, which was head coach Jeff Blashill's first season in charge.
