Puppy Returned After She Was Stolen By A Michigan Door Dash Driver
A door dash driver was caught on camera stealing a puppy from a Michigan home on New Year's Day.
The adorable puppy in the picture above is 8-week old Bella. Bella was minding her own business in her family's enclosed front porch in Warren, Michigan when Door Dash arrived to drop off a food order. The dog owner, Ashley Swinton had a security camera that caught the deliver driver taking the puppy as a tip. You can see footage of the incident in the story from WXYZ in Detroit below.
I am, by no means, a profession criminal. However, common sense would tell me that if I'm delivering food to someone's house that means they're home. It's not like I'm dropping an Amazon package at a home while everyone is at work or school. Furthermore, there are cameras everywhere. We all know that by now, right? And finally, doesn't the Door Dash app show you who your deliver driver is? How did she think she could get away with this?
Well, she didn't get away with it. Video footage hit the internet and then the news. Then Warren police easily tracked her down according to WXYZ,
Police say that the dog-napper later confessed to the crime of stealing the puppy when they tracked her down. “The video evidence, in this case, is very compelling,” says Det. Brian Price with Warren police.
The suspect's name has not been released at this time. The puppy is now home, safe and sound with her family.
