Pizza Hut To Launch Detroit Style Pizza
I love pizza. It's my personal favorite comfort food. Being from Chicago, I have always heard the argument about what's better, Chicago or New York style pizza? I love them both but obviously I am partial to Chicago style.
Well now Detroit style is giving them both a run for their money. And why not? Detroit style pizza is incredible. I love the square shape pizza and the crunchy crust, YUM. I saw this new from cnbc.com:
Pizza Hut is jumping on the Detroit-style pan pizza trend as it looks to advance its turnaround in 2021 after last year’s strong sales growth. Yum Brands chain will be selling four varieties of Detroit-style pizza for a limited time, with prices beginning at $10.99.
David Graves, who is the chief brand officer for Pizza Hut, says it no longer belongs to just the Midwest.
Detroit style from Buddy’s Pizza is also one of my favorites and was created 75 years ago. They use blue steel pans from area automotive factories.
Here are some pizza facts for ya:
- 350 slices of pizza are eaten each second in the U.S.
- More than 2 million Pizza Hut pizzas are sold during the Super Bowl.
- Currently, there are 18,703 Pizza Huts around the world.
- The first pizza is thought to have been invented in Naples in the early 1500s.
And here is even more from eatthis.com.
So what do you think? Is Detroit style your favorite type of pizza? If not, what is?
