Parts of Waverly Road Will Be Closed Starting Monday

Get ready for some more orange barrels because there's a new road construction project in the the Lansing area that is scheduled to start on Monday, July 6th. If you normally travel on Waverly Road near the Lansing Road intersection, this one is going to affect you. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the road construction is scheduled to start at 7 am on Monday, July 6th and you'll need be patient because this particular project isn't scheduled to be completed until Sunday, July 26th.

MDOT says that the northbound and southbound lanes of Waverly Road "will be closed and detoured from Lansing Road and the railroad tracks for the duration of this work". They are encouraging drivers to follow the posted detour and find an alternate route. This project is part of the bigger $60 million "Pave the Way: The I-496 Project".
