If you normally travel on Waverly Road near the I-496 interchange, you should know that you're soon going to have to find a different route because the Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that there are going to be parts of Waverly Road that will be closed due to some road construction. (Yep, the orange barrels will be out in full force.)

According to the press release from officials with MDOT, the northbound lanes of Waverly Road are going to be closed from Lansing Road to the I-496 entrance and exit ramps. They say that the northbound lanes will be closed "for the duration of this work" which means that they will most likely be closed until September as officials say the construction will start on Saturday, May 9th and it isn't expected to be finished until Tuesday, September 8th. Besides the northbound lanes of Waverly Road being shut down in that area, MDOT also says "Waverly Road traffic will be maintained in each direction from the westbound I-496 exit ramp to Saint Joseph Street."
