East Lansing Food Market Needs Your Help To Get Back Up And Running
You know what's better then fresh produce? Fresh produce that's grown locally and available year-round.
The word on the street is that the city of Lansing may become the home of a new market that would do just that!
The Eastside Lansing Food Co-op (ELFCO)
The new Eastside Lansing Food Co-op would be located near the Allen Neighborhood Center and would give local farmers and producers the ability to sell their products year round.
All producers would be able to set their price and collect a percentage of the revenue.
If ELFCO sounds familiar, that's because it isn't something new to the area. It was a big part of the Lansing community from 1976 to 2017.
In order to bring ELFCO back to the community, your help is needed.
According to Patronicity, your donations will help this project come to life. If ELFCO's $50,000 fundraising goal is met, The Michigan Economic Development Corporation will match the contribution.
The goal must be met by the end of July. If you are interested in donating, click here.
Shop local
Sure, we can get our produce from a traditional grocery store whenever, but there's nothing better than fresh local produce.
If you've been trying to make your way out to a local farmers market but haven't been able to find a good day or time, I have good news for you!
They're back for the summer and they're operating all over town on various days!
