NASA's chief scientist thinks we'll have some evidence of aliens life forms by the year 2025 and solid evidence in the next 20 to 30 years.

NASA's chief scientist Ellen Stofan talked about the possibility of finding life on other planets or moons, during a panel discussion in Washington D.C. about water in the rest of the universe. Stofan said, "We know where to look. We know how to look," she said. "In most cases we have the technology, and we're on a path to implementing it, so I think we're definitely on the road."

Right now, the most promising places to look for life are Mars and Europa, one of Jupiter's moons covered by ice, with a presumed ocean beneath it. According to space.com, NASA plans to launch a probe to find out more about Europa in 2022.
