It turns out we have another restaurant to add to the ever-growing list of openings in Greater Lansing.

Greater Lansing’s Restaurant Boom Continues

2026 is turning out to be another banner year for restaurant openings. So far we've seen more than 15 places open, and there are at least 13 more on the way.

Now, we have another opening to anticipate with Mochinut.

It seems that Mochinut is officially coming to East Lansing.

From “Coming Soon” to Reality

If you've been following openings in the area, you might remember that the first rumblings of Mochinut coming to East Lansing happened back in August 2025. At that time, the soon-to-be dessert place was very active on social media, posting about "coming soon".

However, that posting stopped within the month because the 'Mochinut East Lansing' Instagram account was completely deleted.

That's all about to change because Mochinut is making good on its promise.

At 311 E. Grand River Ave. in East Lansing you'll see that Mochinut has signage up on the outside of the building; the inside is being worked on; and some parking spots are reserved for Mochinut customers.

When Mochinut is Opening in East Lansing

There's no exact word on an opening date. However, word on the street is that they hope to open sometime this June.

Mochinut is most well-known for its signature dessert: chewy, mochi-style donuts. They blend Japanese mochi with classic American flavors like Oreo, Fruity Pebbles, Cotton Candy and plenty more. In addition to dessert, Mochinut also serves items like boba tea, Korean corn dogs, and more.
