If Michigan Cities Sent Their Own Valentines…
Remember how fun it was to get Valentine's Day cards back in elementary school?

Your parents would buy you a box of the valentines you wanted, and then you had to figure out which classmates got what cards. You had to be careful! You didn't want to send the wrong message to the wrong person.
Most of the time you had to tear apart perforated sheets of valentines, sign them and stuff them into flimsy envelopes. Then you'd write the name of the recipient on the outside and take your stack to school to deliver to the decorated Valentine's Day bags of all the kids in your class.

Looking back, those valentines may have been some of our earliest introductions to the art of the pun. The lines were always so cheesy: "I'm not lion... I think you're great!", or "I love you s'more and s'more!"

Pretty lame, but we loved them.
