Michigan State Trooper Delivers Baby On The Side Of The Highway

I'm so glad everyone is safe and healthy!

A Michigan State Trooper used some quick thinking when he responded to a medical emergency this morning on M-82. According to MLive, Trooper Owen McGuigan was dispatched to the scene with the information that there was a medical emergency, but didn't know the nature of the emergency due to a language barrier.Well, McGuigan certainly learned the nature of the situation when he got there.

When arriving on the scene, the trooper "found a 41-year-old Grant woman in labor." Labor escalated quickly, and in less than 10 minutes, the Grant woman gave birth to a baby girl, with the help of the trooper and a college student who happened to be with the officer on a ride along at the time of the call.
