Michigan State Getting New Sparty Statue

It's been a six year process, but, sometime this fall, there will be a bronze statue of the Sparty mascot in the MSU Student Union, waiting for you to sit down and take a selfie.

I say - it's about time.

And the ironic thing is - according to the Lansing State Journal, the idea for the Sparty statue came from a visit to (THE) Ohio State University and is being sculpted by a University of Oregon grad.

So, now you'll have two choices of photo ops with Sparty: "Classic" Sparty, in the traffic circle near the stadium or "Awesome & Buff" Sparty, in the student union - where it's inside, and you can buy food and MSU Dairy Store ice cream.

Clearly, my mind is already made up.
