Michigan is Cold, Lansing’s Capital Airport Has Direct Flights To Someplace Warm
Ok, picture this, getting on a plane when it's freezing cold here in Mid Michigan, as you walk on the jet you look out of the small window and see snow flurries.
4 hours later you land, walk off the plane, and head to baggage claim. Then 10 minutes later you are outside where the sun is beating down on you and the current temp is 83 degrees. Sound good?
If you're ready for a warm vacation this is the time to make your plans because as I have written, this winter could be colder with more snow and cold temps compared to the last few years. That is the prediction from experts anyway.
Where Can I Go From Lansing Airport?
But where can you catch a direct flight without driving all the way to Detroit Metro Airport? Well, according to yahoo.com Lansing's Capital Region International Airport has flights to Mexico and the Dominican Republic, while airports in both Grand Rapids and Flint have great fights to warmer U.S.places in the sun.
As always, travelers need to be mindful of COVID-19 travel advisories. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all travelers be fully vaccinated for domestic flights and not travel if they've been exposed to COVID-19. For international travel, passengers are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before returning to the U.S.
Keep in mind Apple Vacations will have flights out of Lansing on Jan. 28th to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Cancun, Mexico. I have been there in the winter and it is fabulous. There are two flights a week to each so you can have some fun in the sun.
How About Mexico?
If you want to go to Mexico, you can on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Flights to the Dominican Republic will be every Thursday and Sunday starting Jan. 30th.
Check with your travel agent, online, and of course with Apple Vacations if you wish. Safe travels if you plan on getting away this winter.
