Michigan iPhone Owners – Apple (maybe) Owes You Some Money
If you own (or did own) an ancient iPhone - like a 6 or a 7 (raise your hand - me, too) you are owed some money by our friends at Apple.
According to CNN,
Apple will pay up to half a billion dollars to settle a class action lawsuit accusing it of slowing down older iPhone models to compel users to buy new ones.
This fight has been going on for two years - ever since Apple admitted to slowing down the older phones. The company said it was to address a battery problem. Angry iPhone warriors said it was because Apple wanted people to buy newer phones.
The settlement agreement has to be approved by a judge in the next month, but then, if you own or owned an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus or SE device and you bought it before December 21, 2017, you should get $25 from Apple. However, according to the article,
the amount each user receives could increase or decrease depending on how many claims are filed as well as any additional legal fees and expenses approved by the court.
So, don't tell anyone and hopefully we have cheap attorneys working on this.
