Slingshot, a whippet from right here in Michigan, loves to compete at dock-diving - the sport of dogs running along a dock and flinging themselves as far as they can into the water.

(I just got that - Slingshot - ha!)

And he's pretty good at it.

Slingshot is owned by fellow WITL listener Rachael Brinkman, who also owns Einstein Dog Training. Rachael heard us talking about world records this morning and messaged us to tell us about Slingshot, saying:

"he’s broken 11 new world record‘s this year at dock diving. His farthest recorded competition jump is 35‘3“, and that’s measured from the end of the dock to where his tail landed in the water. The Guinness Book of World Records is currently held at 31’, so Slingshot will make an official attempt in front of Guinness to break that record in Orlando, FL in December."

You'll also be seeing Slingshot at the SRS World Championship, which will be aired on the Discovery Channel in the spring.

Good luck, Slingshot!
