Move Over McDonald’s: Michigan’s Fave Chicken Nuggets Come From Somewhere Else

Back in my day, we didn't have chicken nuggets.

We had to eat our fried chicken out of a Banquet TV dinner with pasty mashed potatoes and a brownie that would burn your lips off - and we liked it.

OK. That's not entirely true. McDonald's came out with Chicken McNuggets while I was in elementary school. And we thought they were the greatest thing ever.

It wasn't long before their competitors came out with their own versions of chicken nuggets. New sauces were introduced. Different packaging. That kind of thing.

Now it seems everyone's got their own version. But whose are the best?

McDonald's Is Still a Favorite, But Not Everywhere

Cheapism recently revealed the most popular fast-food chicken nuggets by state.

Residents in 19 states named McDonald's as their favorite fast-food nugget. That's more votes than anyone else got.

But Michigan's not among those 19.

Chick-Fil-A's Nuggets Are Popular Too

17 states selected the nuggets from Chick-Fil-A as their favorite, but Michigan didn't pick them either.

Michigan's Favorite Fast Food Chicken Nuggets

You may be surprised to learn that Michigan was among a total of 9 states who picked Wendy's as their favorite fast-food chicken nugget.

Wendy's, typically more associated with burgers, offers both "crispy" and "spicy" nuggets (or "nuggs", as they call them). Popular available sauces include Honey BBQ, Garlic Parm, Buffalo, and Spicy Ghost Pepper.
