Technically yes, you can. You can take a quick snooze or a full-blown 8 hours. However, there are some rules, laws, and ordinances to make sure you follow while you do so.

Although Michigan doesn't have laws that prohibit you from sleeping in your car, every town or city can have its own local laws forbidding it. So before you put it in park in a new town, you'll want to double-check their laws.

And, even though the sign says it already, just a reminder that "no parking" zones are "no parking" zones no matter when. So even if you need to sleep, you can't park in them. And don't forget to park somewhere safe.
Rest stops are great places to catch some z's, but always double-check that there are no signs saying you can't park there. Business parking lots, like Walmart, have been suggested as good spots as well. However, not all Walmart lots allow this.
At the end of the day, yes, it's legal to sleep in your car in the state of Michigan, it all depends on where.
