When it comes to swimming and summer fun, Michigan can't be beat!

Why Indoor Water Parks Are Perfect for Michigan Weather

We've got the Great Lakes, thousands of inland lakes, and let's not forget about some awesome indoor water parks.

Michigan is a lucky state that gets to experience all four seasons, so sometimes it's just too darn cold to swim outside in one of our awesome lakes. That's where indoor water parks come in.

Indoor water parks offer the opportunity to swim, splash, and have fun even when the weather isn't cooperating. And in Michigan, that could be anytime.

Michigan Water Park Ranked Among the Best in the U.S.

Lucky for us, Michigan is home to one of the best water parks in the US!

USA Today recently put together its list for the '10 Best Indoor Water Parks' for 2026, and Bavarian Blast Waterpark in Frankenmuth was ranked No. 4 on the list!

What Makes Bavarian Blast Stand Out

Here's why USA Today ranked Bavarian Blast Waterpark as high as they did:

The glass roof and walls at this indoor oasis at Bavarian Inn Lodge flood the space with natural light year-round, lending tropical vibes to Frankenmuth's snowy winters. There are enough aquatic attractions to tire out even the most enthusiastic kids. The centerpiece is a multi-story water slide complex with body and tube slides for one to six riders, but you'll also find a (not so) lazy river, activity pool with basketball hoops, and a zero-depth entry area perfect for toddlers still mastering their sea legs. Adults appreciate Michigan’s first-ever swim-up bar, too.

Bavarian Blast Waterpark seems to have a little bit of something for everyone, whether you're bringing the little ones, or you're just enjoying a grown-ups-only vacation.
