Joel Crookston of Portage says he (and all of us) should be able to take "ballot selfies" - photos of ourselves in voting booths. (Seriously - it's a real thing) According to McClatchyDC.com, the state of Michigan says, (and I'm paraphrasing here) "No, Joel. Sorry, but this has been the law since 1891."  Joel says this falls under his First Amendment rights. The State of Michigan says, "We'd rather you not, because it might cause problems with vote buying or coercion."

So, Joel filed suit in Grand Rapids federal court last month.

Here's the story. We'll see what happens. Hopefully before next month.
