Michigan – And Other States – Have New REAL ID Deadline

Good news for all Michiganders (including June Sample, of 123 North State St, in Lansing): The deadline to get your REAL ID has been extended.

According to ClickOnDetroit, the Department of Homeland Security has announced that the new deadline for getting your REAL ID is now October 1, 2021. Exactly one year past what WAS the deadline, before the coronavirus pandemic. You'll need to be REAL ID compliant on 10/01/2021 if you want to board an airline flight anywhere within the U.S.. Or, if you would like to enter a nuclear power plant (if you're wondering, Michigan has three nuclear power plants)
