Matthew Stafford Shouts Out One Of His Biggest Fans From Muskegon
Growing up in Michigan and being a Detroit Lions fan is tough.
It's even tougher when all your great players end up retiring early.
Running back Barry Sanders
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson aka Megatron
Then they traded away our quarterback Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for quarterback Jared Goff, first-round draft picks in 2022 and 2023, and a third-round pick in 2021.
Like a lot of heartbroken Lions fans, A.J. Ferenz of Muskegon still cheered on Matthew Stafford after he was traded from Detroit, and his love and passion for the former Lion were on full display in a video that went viral last week.
In the video A.J. can be seen jumping around and cheering on Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams as they drove down the field to set up a game-winning field goal against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After the video went viral, Los Angeles Rams fans saw it and so did the Rams organization. They ended up offering A.J. a flight to L.A. and tickets to the NFC Championship game.
As if that wasn't cool enough, the Rams and Matthew Stafford had one more surprise for A.J.: a special video message from the QB himself.
In the video, Matthew Stafford said hi to A.J. and went on to tell him how much he appreciates the support not only now but also back when he was the quarterback for the Detroit Lions. He also told him they would hook him up with a signed jersey so he could wear it at the game.
I wonder if now that the Rams are in the Super Bowl A.J. will get hooked up with tickets to that game as well. Being a lifelong Lions fan I think it's only fair.
