Another Chain Restaurant on the Verge of Leaving Michigan

After numerous closures over the years, there's exactly one location in Michigan of one restaurant in particular. However, this last bastion may not be standing for too much longer.

Restaurants close all the time, but not all close with as much confusion as this one.

According to Westland Community News' Facebook page, Michigan's final BD's Mongolian Grill may be closing soon.

I say may because nothing has been confirmed yet. Although Westland Community News says the employees basically said it's not a matter of if, but when.

If you happen to have any gift cards left for this restaurant, now would be the time to use them.

This wouldn't be the first time a Mongolian Grill location has closed with abruptness, confusion, or both.

The location in Dearborn closed very abruptly and without warning. The story with the Flint and Sterling Heights locations is a little bit different.

For some time, both of those locations had signs that said "temporarily closed". But, we learned that the Flint location closed sometime in October 2024. And it looks like the Sterling Heights location has been closed for a bit now too, possibly shutting down in 2024.

Something that adds to all of this confusion—the BD's Mongolian Grill website still lists the Sterling Heights, Flint, and Canton locations to be open.

It seems safe to say that we'll be saying goodbye to Mongo in Michigan.

BD's Mongolian Grill isn't the only chain restaurant to be on the way out of Michigan... Hooters has just two locations left in the whole state.
