Longtime Lansing TV News Anchor Sheri Jones Says ‘This Isn’t Retirement’
After nearly four decades of bringing local news to Lansing-area television screens, one of the city's best-known TV news anchors is shifting gears.
Sheri Jones of WLNS 6 News has announced that she'll be leaving the anchor desk later this spring.
"As you all know, TV6 is my second home," Jones told viewers this week. "It's been that way for nearly the past 40 years of my life! I would have never imagined—when I walked through the doors as an intern—that I would be here now, celebrating 37 years at the anchor desk."

When Is Sheri Jones Leaving WLNS 6 News?
Jones informed her viewers that her last day on the anchor desk will be May 9th, but she hesitates to refer to this as "retirement".
"This isn't retirement for me," Jones says. "It's a re-set...and I'll still be here— enjoying all our moments together."
