Michigan-Based Drama ‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ Coming to NBC
A brand new TV drama set in Michigan is dropping this winter on NBC.
It's called "Grosse Pointe Garden Society" - and those of us who live in the Mitten might see more than a few similarities between the setting for this fictional club and the affluent Detroit suburb that lends its name.

Trailers for the show are already popping up in an effort to get audiences pumped about the debut.
What Is "Grosse Pointe Garden Society" About?
"Grosse Pointe Garden Society" tracks four members of a suburban garden club whose lives may seem perfect on the outside - but deep down, are full of scandal, intrigue, shadowy secrets, and even a murder they're all covering up.
From the outside looking in, seems like "Desperate Housewives" but a lot darker.

The tagline "secrets spread like weeds" is featured in one trailer, seemingly a simultaneous nod toward the garden club setting and the deception that lies within.
Who Stars in "Grosse Pointe Garden Society"?
"Grosse Pointe Garden Society" - which is actually filmed in Georgia, not Michigan - follows the lives of four main stars.
You might know Melissa Fumero as Amy Santiago from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". She plays Birdie on this new show, described as a hoity-toity bestselling author with rich tastes and a drinking problem. (What?! Hoity-toity? Rich tastes? Yep. Sounds like Grosse Pointe.)
AnnaSophia Robb is Alice, a beloved high school teacher who's been a member of the garden club for a long time. She played Bethany Hamilton in the movie "Soul Surfer".
Aja Naomi King, who played Michaela Pratt in "How to Get Away With Murder", plays unhappily married Catherine in "Grosse Pointe Garden Society". She's a realtor.
