Some of the hardest hit workers during the COVID-19 pandemic are employees in the service industry. Bar and restaurant employees who show up every day whose livelihoods depend on wages and tips have taken a major hit due to their workplaces being completely shut down, or partially shut down with just a few employees handling carry-out orders.

Enter local musician and my friend, Joe Wright to help out. He will be doing a live stream on Facebook Live to benefit the employee's at Relli's Sports Bar, which is located on 202 East Main Street in Dewitt. Relli's won't be the location of the live stream. Joe's basement will be and he'll be performing your favorites, hoping that you will enjoy the music and make any kind of donation that you can afford to help Relli's employees who could use a few extra dollars during the pandemic. The music gets under way at around 7 p.m. on Thursday night (4/23).

You can find out more about the event and how you can help by watching and making a donation right here.

Joe has played locally at popular bars from the Whiskey Barrel to the Waterfront Bar and Grill, where he performed every Friday night for 8 years. He’s been booked in some of Michigan’s finest dive bars from Battle Creek to Boyne Falls. He was the headliner for multiple Lansing beer festivals including Beerfest at the Ballpark, the inaugural act for Bay Harbor’s ‘Harbor Jam’, a regular for the City of Lansing’s Concert in the Park series, and remains a Lansing favorite at more bars than you can count. His current rotation includes Cantina Eastwood, the B&I Bar, and also Relli’s in DeWitt where you can catch him every Thursday night from 7 until 10 p.m. when the Sports Bar reopens.
