A Lansing Business Has Closed Its Doors Permanently
Lansing has had another business closure to be aware of.
Nothing lasts forever, sadly. And Lansing has had its fair share of businesses close in 2024.
Lansing Business Closure
I came across the latest closure when I was on the search for a sweet treat. I had just finished lunch, and the hankering for something sweet.
I was on Lansing's westside, and I was going to pass a Dairy Queen on the way home, so I thought, "perfect!" I'm going to swing through the drive-thru (bonus points for not having to get out of the car) and get a mini Blizzard.
If you're familiar with Lansing's west side, there was a Dairy Queen in a multi-business plaza on West Saginaw, just east of Waverly. And I say was, because that Dairy Queen is no longer in business.
The building that housed the former Dairy Queen is mostly empty, save for a few high chairs and some kind of signage laying on the floor.
The outside of the storefront and the plaza sign no longer bare the Dairy Queen name. Plus, signage is up, advertising that the building is available for lease.
Does anyone know when this closure might have happened? I feel like I had driven by recently and saw that they were still open, but, I could be mistaken.

However, it must have happened semi-recently, because as of right now (Monday, December 30th), Google still has the location listed as open.
Lansing's west side; I'm counting on you to clue us in.
If you really have a hankering for a Blizzard in the mean time, there are two other locations. The one on South Cedar is closed for the season, but will reopen once it's warmer. The other location, which is open year round, is located at 954 E Saginaw Hwy in Grand Ledge.
