Lansing Area Under An Excessive Heat Warning
Earlier this week the National Weather Service issues an Excessive Heat Watch for the Lansing area. That watch has now been upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning that goes into effect today (Friday) at noon and lasts until Sunday night at 8pm. The National Weather Service says that the heat index will reach around 100 degrees this afternoon, will approach 110 degrees on Saturday and will be around 100 degrees on Sunday afternoon. It will also stay pretty warm and humid at night this weekend as the NWS says that the lows this weekend will stay in the mid 70s. Cooling Centers will open today and will stay open this weekend in the Lansing area. Call 211 to find a location near you.
