There's an update about the Lansing food scene that lots of people have been waiting for: a longtime favorite restaurant has reopened.

Lansing's Airport Tavern Has Officially Reopened
Recently, The Airport Tavern underwent some change in management. Longtime owner Pete Sinadinos announced his retirement to Facebook on December 29, 2025. With that he had to sell the business, and he did so on January 1, 2026 to Marcus Powers.

Originally the restaurant was going to be closed from January 1 - 9 during that transition of power, but things took a little bit longer than planned. The official reopening took place on January 30.
Airport Tavern Has a New Name and New Ownership
The restaurant now has a new name with the new ownership: The ATS of Lansing.

The ATS of Lansing (formerly The Airport Tavern & Steakhouse) has been in Lansing for around 55 years in some form or another. Lansing is very happy to see this institution sticking around.

What else can loyal Tavvies expect from ATS now that it's under new ownership? Powers doesn't plan on making any big changes fast. His goal is to really get the business under his belt and get to know the regulars. From there, he's going to make some small improvements to the menu and the building.
