If you haven't heard, Kroger is recalling TONS of ground beef--literally. According to a report from USA Today, over 17.7 tons of ground beef is being recalled due to possible contamination with pieces of plastic. The USDA says that so far there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of the products, which were produced March 22, 2018.

The ground beef that is being recalled was sold in a variety of packages and was shipped to distribution centers in Virginia and Indiana. According to WDIV, the good news is that Michigan stores are NOT affected by this recall. However, Kroger stores in North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois and eastern West Virginia, as well as Food 4 Less and Jay C stores in the Midwest were affected by the massive recall. The ground beef being recalled carried a sell-by date of April 9, 2018, and a USDA mark with the number EST. 34176.
