Kenny Chesney Covers Okemos, Michigan’s Lord Huron
He didn't sing it when he was at Ford Field last weekend, but Kenny Chesney has a song called "Ends Of The Earth" on his new "Songs For The Saints" album. According to MLive.com, the song is a cover of a song originally done in 2012 by the band "Lord Huron", a group made up primarily of guys from Michigan. (Three of the five band members are from Okemos and one is from Eaton Rapids) The Lord Huron version wasn't a big "hit", but it was heard on a ton of TV shows and it apparently caught Kenny's ear.
Lord Huron may not be country, but they're local guys and "Ends Of The Earth" is a cool song and they've turned into kinda a big deal. In fact - tomorrow night (Wednesday August 8th), Lord Huron will be on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" on CBS, singing their new song, "Never Ever", which I kinda like, too.
Here's the story, with a link to audio for the song - both Kenny's version and the original.
