Jackson County Woman Is Crowned Miss Michigan
Emily Sioma, from Grass Lake in Jackson County, is the new Miss Michigan. Emily will next go to Atlantic City, NJ, to compete for the Miss America title on September 9th.
According to MLive.com, Emily's talent is tap-dancing. And during the Miss Michigan Pageant in Muskegon this past weekend, she won a special swimsuit scholarship award. But it looks like that's the last time THAT will happen - and because of the new Miss America rules, Emily won't need her swimsuit at Miss America.
My favorite Emily Sioma trivia? According to the article, Emily shared these interesting facts about herself in the Miss Michigan pageant program: "I own a small clothing design and repair business. I've been to over 50 concerts. I don't have canine teeth."
No canine teeth. Who's going to top that tidbit at Miss America? Nobody.
