Michigan Air Show Named Among the Top 10 in America
There is a ton of excitement building as Flint's Bishop International Airport will once again be the sight of an air show after 30 years. With its return, the show will surely join the ranks of some of the best air shows in the country.
Summer air shows are warm weather staples for fun across the country. With their exciting stunts and roaring engines, kids of all ages just can't seem to get enough. If air shows are your thing, you'll find one of the best in the entire country in Michigan.
USA Today 10Best has just released its reader's vote on the "10 Best Air Shows in North America", and making a list is the popular Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show. The popular summer event in Battle Creek flew in to secure the 6th spot on the list.
Battle Creek Field of Flight isn't just any ordinary air show. It's an air show combined with a balloon festival with a whole lot of energy tossed in. Attendees will enjoy military and civilian aircraft, hot-air balloons, live music, food vendors, a carnival, and two fireworks shows. Started in 1980, the event is one of the longest-running air events in North America.
USA Today 10Best writes this about the annual event, held at the Battle Creek Executive Airport;
"This mid-summer event in Michigan is an air show and balloon festival rolled into one – the largest of its kind in North America. For six days, spectators enjoy air shows of military and civilian aircraft, a twilight and night air show (among the largest in the nation), fireworks, concerts, and hot air balloon launches."
Just another impressive reason that Michigan truly has it all.
