If you grew up in the 80's, in or around the Motor City or Vehicle City, you definitely remember certain muscles cars that stood out from the crowd. The Chevrolet Corvette was a head-turner for many. But there were plenty more to choose from, and many of these beasts were made in Michigan.

The 1987 Ford Mustang 5.0 was a rocket for its time. But the Chevy Monte Carlo SS, the Camaro IROC-Z, the Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2, The Firebird Trans Am, and the Dodge Charger Shelby GLHS were nothing to scoff at either.

But for many the Buick Grand National was the coveted vehicle of the late 1980s.

HotCars states that, for the most epic, prolific, and collectible year of 1987, the Grand National had a base price of $16,617 (or the equivalent of $38,745 in 2023 dollars). Fully optioned, however, a 1987 Grand National cost $18,295 (or the equivalent of $42,657 today).

According to a verified user on Jerry, Buick made only 30,022 Grand Nationals during its short 1982-1987 lifespan. Equipped with a 4.1-liter V6 engine, rather than the performance-favored V8, the Grand National redefined the American muscle car power in the 1980s.

So, the question remains: Can you still find the Michigan-made muscle of the Grand National around here somewhere?

Until now, you could only find these rare beauties in the garages of various 'car guys'' homes throughout Michigan. But that's all changed.

It just so happens that a Grand National with only 309 miles on it, in mint condition, is now up for sale at a Michigan-based car dealership located in Plymouth, Michigan.

Check out the video of the iconic car here.

Will this one be your next purchase? I am sure there are plenty of motor heads out there that would love to say yes. And it beats haggling on Craiglist with a local retired mechanic who is deeply emotionally invested in it.
