It is that time of year when winter allergies, the common bug, or when your sinuses just truly hate you, and you need some kind of release, so you’ve probably been using a lot of nasal spray. There is, however, a nasal spray being sold right here in the state of Michigan that is currently under recall.

Why ReBoost Nasal Spray Is Being Recalled

The brand known as ReBoost Nasal Spray (20 mL) is currently being recalled. According to the FDA, testing was done and found the spray contained yeast and mold. There was also another microbial contamination that included a bacteria called Achromobacter.

It is not only gross, but it leads to a serious concern over infections, and the FDA specifically warns the risk is most serious for people who are immunocompromised, where the chance of severe outcomes can be much higher.

Who Is Most at Risk

Symptoms tied to this contamination can vary, but the warning signs commonly include fever, chills, lethargy, and infections that can get intense fast. It could look similar to pneumonia, endocarditis, or meningitis.

The recall is only for a single lot, so you don’t need to panic if you use nasal spray in general. Just match the numbers on the package. The recalled ReBoost 20 mL nasal spray is identified as:
